who's there?

As many of you have probably guessed, I sort of have a phobia about answering my phone. I don't like to do it unless I'm by myself and/or I know why the person is calling. I prefer to listen to the message, have time to think about it, and then call them back. I almost never answer my phone when I'm not alone, partly because I feel rude and partly because I don't always know what the phone call will be about, whether it'll be a long one or a short one, etc., so I feel self-conscious.

Does anyone else do this?

This has been a message from Olympus, sponsored by her conscience.

I am often teased about my avoidance of all things phone. I even told my home teacher that if he wants to see me he needs to text or e-mail me. He still calls so his home teaching numbers will not be met with me.

I hate, hate, hate phones.

I called DL once and she said "It must be an emergency if you're calling." (o:

You are not alone and I support your non-phone use.

Hahahaha:) Nah, I'm good about calling out. I'm actually on the phone a lot. Just, I don't answer very often. At least you're good with texting though! Which is understandable, as it's on your own time and terms. Still, though. We can be friends, here. :)

I hate answering my phone in the company of others too! It strikes me as impolite, at least to have a conversation more than a few minutes. Perhaps I'm old-fashioned though.

i started in on leaving a comment about my cell phone philosophy, but it got real long, so i posted it at my blog.

I would say "Me too", except I hate the telephone altogether.

I totally do this, which makes my life more complicated since I am frequently at work or my parents' anyway, and they have been over a lot the last month and a half with their house all dishevelled..
