I'm an activist.

Hahahha.

"An activist against global warming ..."-Robert Poste

No. I'm an activist against unbalanced presentation. Check this out. Finally, a balanced article regarding Al Gore's "An Inconvenient Truth."

Um, here's the thing though:

He's not suggesting you never use hairspray, or only walk places, or asking us to stop using paper.

He's just suggesting that we consider how our actions affect the environment.

So...whether the weather (ha!) has fluctuated more during this century anyway, or whether we're uncertain about how fast his predictions will become reality...

Isn't it still a good idea for us to be aware of how our actions affect other people?

I dunno. I think life's sort of like camping--You should do your best to leave stuff cleaner than when you came.

Suppose I tell you 1/4 smokers dies of lung cancer. Maybe it's actually 1/6 or 1/20. Who really cares, though? It's bad for you. And lung cancer isn't the only problem that it causes.

(And I'm not saying that it isn't important to have facts straight, either.)

Ahhh, dimmi:D You are so punny.

Now to my actual comment. hahaha. Sorry, I'm still laughing about that. I know, I'm a loser, it's cool.

I don't mind the things he asks people to do in that respect. We don't disagree that it's good to be environmentally conscious - you, me and Al Gore are all together on that one. I do mind the way he plays on my emotions with an unbalanced presentation of facts which make the situation sound out of control in a way that could possibly kill everyone on the planet in a matter of weeks, and then says, "Go tell your representatives that this is the most crucial thing they could focus on right now. Hurrah. Also, you should have elected me. I'm going to win an Oscar."

That's the way his presentation makes me feel. It rubs me wrong. As a relatively conscious citizen, I try to recycle my pop cans and my newspapers, I try not to waste paper, and I own, along with my 4th grade class, a five-mile radius of rainforest in Brazil.

But don't make me feel guilty and then say all I have to do to change that is be your (or your friends') constituent.

Also, I know you aren't:) Let's be friends anyway:P hehe.

Also, I think more things should be like camping.

Hi, Olympus, I'm trying this again, like you suggested. Will it work for me?

Cool, it DID! (As long as I post under "anonymous"). Since it did, I'll try to leave this address here, too. It's another article about global warming. Since I am in no way a scientist, I have no idea if this is any good, but it's interesting.
